- creates Quality Assurance programs and activities
- monitors the continuous quality improvement of products and processes
- evelops and implements sampling & testing (physical, microbial) procedures for finished products and incoming raw materials
- erforms troubleshooting on quality problems and collaborates with other departments on troubleshooting methods
- coordinates with Warehouse Managers with regards to the condition of the storage areas, products stores and recommends QA measures
- coordinates with Logistics Manager on matters related to quality of the outgoing products and deviations incurred by trucker/loader/unloaders based on the result of the evaluation of affected areas
- leads in the formation, implementation and monitoring of Good Manufacturing Practices, Standard Sanitation Operation Procedures and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points programs
- manages operating expenses and budget of the department
- conducts plant visit to evaluate the suppliers' FSC standards
- initiates periodic job-out suppliers' audit to ensure compliance with standards
- coordinates with Operations and R&D on matters related to quality such as RSS products and when necessary visits the complaining stores
- communicates with the Commissary Manager regarding updates on standards and quality checkpoints for imported goods aligning to main Commissary procedures
- maintains an up-to-date records on modifications of manufacturing procedures
- evaluates critical control points in the processing operations and recommends measures to minimize/eliminate rejection
- deals with the government regulatory agencies in relation to technical matters
- keeps abreast of relevant developments in quality control/assurance and continues training as needed
- prepares quality assurance reports and other documents that may be required from time to time
