Detailed Job
Responsibilities:
§ To
ensure Receipt / Put Away and Issue process is followed and exceptions are
escalated to management.
§ Receives,
stores, and issues supplies into and out of stores.
o
To check and receive purchased materials
forwarded by the receiving department and to arrange for the storage in
appropriate places.
o
To reserve a particular material for a specific
job when so required.
o
To issue materials only in required quantities
against authorised requisition notes/material lists.
o
Verifies that supplies received are listed on
requisitions and invoices.
§
To check the book balances, with the actual
physical stock at frequent intervals by way of internal control over wrong
issues, pilferage, etc.
§ To
maintain proper records – Delivery Order / Put Away Slips / Issue Slips.
§ Process
Goods Receipt Note (GRN) in the system.
§
To initiate purchase requisitions for the
replacement of stock of all regular stores items whenever the stock level of
any item of store approaches the minimum limit fixed in respect thereof.
§ To exercise general control over
all activities in Stores Department.
§ To ensure safe keeping both as to
quality and quantity of materials.
Minimum Job
Requirements:
§
Completed degree(s) from an accredited
institution.
§ Awareness
/ experience / exposure to auto industry is highly desirable but not mandatory.
§ Hands
on experience in inventory management – both physical movement and system
related movement.
§ 7-10
years of experience in inventory management in manufacturing environment.
Knowledge, Skills and
Abilities Required:

Ability to receive, stock, and/or deliver goods

Ability to analyze and solve problems

Ability to prepare routine administrative paperwork
·
Knowledge of supplies, equipment, and/or
services ordering and inventory control
§
Ability to reconcile stock counts to report data
§
Experience with SAP / Oracle Materials
Management module is highly desirable. If not it’s imperative to have knowledge,
ability and skills to learn and understand how to use ERP systems
§
Clerical, word processing, and/or office skills
§
Good interpersonal and communication skills
§
Ability to be a team player and work
collaboratively with other department – Production / Service /
§
Ability to work in an extremely fast paced /
unstructured environment
§ Assertiveness to deal with tough internal
clients, ability to push back when required
§ Focus and courage to drive structure and
discipline into the in-scope processes
