Senior Manager – H & S (Health and Safety)

Main Duties:
Develops Emergency Evacuation and Disaster Plan, coordinate training and preparation for implementation of this plan including involvement of external agencies.
In conjunction with Security Manager develop First Aid training program for Management & Operations staff. Ensure readiness of First Aid and Emergency Response Team in case of emergency or incident.
Work with Director of Maintenance to ensure all maintenance cycles and ride tests are performed according to local laws and suppliers/manufacturers requirements. Perform spot checks on maintenance work and documentation.
Develops and implements safety awareness training programs for all park staff. Lead in the organization of internal staff committees for addressing and resolving safety issues.
Control training and certification process for all departments relating to safety, hygiene and loss prevention procedures including all ride operator certification.
Works to promote a safety-minded environment through departmental management. Looks to reduce guest visits to first aid for park related issues. Records all visits, follows up and reports to appropriate parties as needed/required.
Establishes effective programs to reduce work related injuries and illnesses. Works insurance representatives on the management of any workers’ compensation claims including return to work and modified work programs. Establishes internal procedures for effective investigation, processing and follow-up of all claims.
Works closely with Finance to establish and implements requirements for insurance coverage to garner economies of scale and consistency in coverage.
Establish and maintain good working relationships with insurance adjusters, brokers and legal firm to ensure effective risk management and proper handling of all claims in conjunction with Finance.
Establishes and maintains relationships with local authorities to ensure ongoing cooperation and effective communication.
Establishes parameters for and participate in the Departmental Duty Manager Program.
Any other duties as may be reasonably requested by the Management Team

In order to be qualified for this role you should possess the below criteria:
Essential:
A bachelor’s degree in Safety, Health or related field (or equivalent education and experience) required
CPR and First Aid certifications are required
8 – 10 years of experience in Safety and Risk field
4 – 5 years of supervisory experience is required
Desirable:
A certification and training in Safety & Health is preferred
Experience within a theme park or related customer service field is preferred
